All of the processes in my book are related to each another, and they all follow the same basic rules; a universal solvent in the form of a special crystalline salt is formed from various natural sources or "prime materials", and this "solvent" is able to dissolve metals like acid, but without corrosion or violence. There is no chemical explanation as to how this is achieved, because there is nothing present in the salt that should be able to dissolve metals like gold and silver.
